The wool industry has been around for a long time and has undergone a number of changes throughout the years, but one thing hasn’t changed:  the commitment to finding new uses for this amazing textile.

The Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand (WRONZ) are dedicated to keeping learning alive in the New Zealand wool industry and this is evidenced by their awarding of five NZWCA Wool Technology Scholarship’s to Southern Institute of Technology students last month.

The five students graduated with Certificates of Wool Technology, completed by distance learning and will be valuable employees of the wool industry in their chosen vocation.

Other examples for new uses for wool are on the horizon as many companies are turning their focus to sustainability and natural products.  We look forward to reporting on these as they are made public.
